Exciting New Job Opportunity

Rokeby Neighbourhood Centre is seeking highly skilled professionals to implement a new and innovative model for individual, family, and community support in Tasmania.

A part-time position (0.5 FTE) is available based at Rokeby Neighbourhood Centre and Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre.  The successful applicant will be working with the two Neighbourhood Houses to respond to individual and community issues.  At the core of the service development is a community of practice using an action learning research approach.

The position is required to develop and provide a range of activities and services for the Neighbourhood Houses in partnership with existing community, family, and individual supports in a sustainable manner.

You will need a social work diploma or degree, or equivalent experience, as well as a current Tasmanian driver’s license.  High level oral and written communication and negotiation skills are essential.

A current Australian Police Check and a Working with Vulnerable People Check are also required but may be obtained before commencement for the successful candidate

The following skills, experience and attributes are also desirable:

·         Coordinating community activities

·         Establishing and maintaining community partnerships

·         Managing and coordinating community events and activities

·         Critical reflection and self-awareness

·         Counselling and Case Management

·         Understanding of the action learning research approach.

The position falls under the SCHADS Award Level 4 or 5, depending on skills and experience ($38,500 – 42,800 per year at 0.5 FTE + superannuation).
